RRB JE Recruitment 2026: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have officially released the highly anticipated short employment notification for the recruitment of Junior Engineers in the Indian Railways.
Under the Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 04/2026, RRB has announced a massive total of 4098 vacancies for the posts of Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA). The short notice was published in the Employment Newspaper (25-31 July 2026 edition).
This nationwide recruitment drive is one of the biggest opportunities of the year for Technical Diploma holders and Engineering Graduates. The online application link will be activated on August 14, 2026, and candidates can apply until September 13, 2026.

Salary and Pay Scale
- Pay Level: Level-6
- Initial Basic Pay: ₹ 35,400/-
- Along with the basic pay, candidates are entitled to Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), and various other railway perks.
Selection Process – RRB JE 2026
- 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-I): Screening test consisting of Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Science.
- 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-II): Final merit deciding test focusing heavily on Technical Abilities (Domain specific), along with Physics & Chemistry, Basics of Computers, and Basics of Environment.
- Document Verification (DV): Checking of all educational, caste, and identity certificates.
- Medical Examination (ME): Extremely strict railway medical standards (A3, B1, B2, C1) depending on the post. Vision standards are strictly enforced.

- Visit the Official Portal: Go to your regional RRB website or the centralized portal at rrbapply.gov.in.
- Create an Account:
- You must have an active mobile number and a valid email ID.
- Aadhaar / DigiLocker Verification: RRB strongly recommends linking and verifying your Aadhaar for seamless processing.
- Fill Application Form: Log in and fill out your personal, educational, and preferred RRB zone details carefully. (You can apply to only ONE RRB).
- Live Photograph Capture (⚠️ CRITICAL):
- RRB requires candidates to capture a Live Photograph via webcam or mobile front camera during the application process.
- Ensure you have a non-white background, good lighting, and no glasses/caps.
- Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of your signature and community certificates (for SC/ST candidates for free travel pass).
- Pay Fee: Pay the ₹500 (or ₹250) fee online. Enter correct bank account details for the CBT-1 fee refund.
- Submit & Print: Submit the final application and save the printout.
