Selection Process – SBI Clerk Backlog 2026

  1. Online Preliminary Examination – A 1-hour screening test with 100 questions on English, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning. Candidates scoring above the category-wise cutoff will advance to Mains.
  2. Online Main Examination – A 2-hour 40-minute comprehensive test covering General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, and General/Financial Awareness. The Mains score determines the final merit ranking.
  3. Local Language Proficiency Test (LPT) – Candidates who clear Mains will be assessed for their proficiency in the local language of the state/UT they applied for. Those who have studied the local language as a subject in 10th or 12th standard (with supporting mark sheet) are exempted from this test.
  4. Medical Examination – Selected candidates must undergo a medical fitness test as prescribed by SBI norms.
  5. Document Verification – Original educational certificates, graduation degree, caste/category certificate, local language proof, age proof, and identity documents will be verified before final appointment.

Step 2: Click on “New Registration” if you are a first-time applicant. Enter your basic details — full name, date of birth, email ID, and active mobile number. Note down the Provisional Registration Number and password sent to your registered email.

Step 3: Log in with your credentials and fill in the complete application form. This includes personal information, educational qualifications, graduation details, category (SC/ST/OBC), and the state/UT and local language you are applying for.

Step 4: Upload scanned copies of your recent passport-size photograph (JPEG, 20–50 KB), signature (JPEG, 10–20 KB), and left thumb impression (JPEG, 20–50 KB) as per the specifications mentioned in the notification.

Step 5: Pay the Application Fee (if applicable). SC/ST/PwD/ESM candidates enjoy a complete fee waiver — no payment required! OBC candidates must pay ₹750/- through the online payment gateway using Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
