  • Scientific Assistant / Lab Assistant (Biology) : B.Sc. in Biology with Forensic Science with specialization in Biotechnology /Biochemistry /Genetic Science /Cell Biology /Microbiology.
  • Scientific Assistant / Lab Assistant (Physics) : B.Sc. in Physics with Forensic Science with specialization in Nuclear Science/ Instrumental Electronics OR B.Tech. in Instrumental Electrical & Electronics Engineering/ Civil and Mechanical Engineering.
  • Scientific Assistant / Lab Assistant (Chemistry) : B.Sc. in Chemistry with Forensic Science with specialization in Biochemistry.
  • Scientific Assistant / Lab Assistant (CS) : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science OR ‘A’ Level Diploma from NIELIT.

Salary and Pay Scale

  • Scientific Assistant: Placed in Level-06 with a Basic Pay starting at ₹35,400/- (Gross monthly salary approx. ₹55,000+ including DA, HRA, and allowances).
  • Lab Assistant: Placed in Level-04 with a Basic Pay starting at ₹25,500/- (Gross monthly salary approx. ₹40,000+ including allowances).

Selection Process & Written Exam Pattern

  1. Shortlisting (PET 2025 Score): UPSSSC will release a category-wise cutoff percentile based on PET 2025 scores. Shortlisted candidates (usually 15x of vacancies) will be eligible for the Mains exam.
  2. Written Examination (100 Marks): A single-stage offline objective (MCQ) exam testing scientific aptitude, UP general knowledge, and computer concepts.
  3. Document Verification: Scrutiny of B.Sc/B.Tech/NIELIT degrees, PET scorecards, and UP caste/domicile certificates.
  4. Medical Examination: Standard medical fitness verification.

  1. Visit Official Website: Go to the official UPSSSC portal at upsssc.gov.in.
  2. PET Authentication: Click on the notification for Advt. 15-Exam/2026 (Scientific/Lab Assistant). Authenticate your login using your UPSSSC PET 2025 Registration Number via OTP or Personal Details.
  3. Fill Detailed Form: Your basic details will auto-populate from your PET database. Enter your specific academic qualifications (B.Sc Forensic, B.Tech, or NIELIT ‘A’ Level).
  4. Upload Photo & Sign: Verify that your photograph and signature from PET are clearly visible, or re-upload if prompted.
  5. Pay ₹25 Fee: Make the online payment of ₹25/- through Net Banking, Debit Card, or UPI.

Q1. Can I apply for UPSSSC Scientific Assistant if I did not give PET 2025?

No. Appearing in UPSSSC PET 2025 and possessing a valid scorecard is strictly mandatory. Without it, you cannot even log into the application portal.

Q2. Is B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering eligible for this post?

Yes. According to the notification, candidates holding a B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical, or Instrumental Electrical & Electronics Engineering are eligible under the Physics discipline.
